SiMEDEx Engineers are at it again! The silicone extrusion company that MER represents was approached with the challenge of making a formed tube. The shape or form requested represented a sine curve or sine wave.
The current product on the market was manufactured with a polyurethane material. The overall goal of the project was to delivery greater patient comfort due to the silicone being softer than the previously used polyurethane material.
Simedex can now form or set different shapes in silicone tubing allowing for a product to keep itself in place, allowing for easier placement or whatever the reason might be you need a formed tube.
